Food Packaging Ecodesign – New Tools to guide decision making
New packaging tools
A new toolkit has just been launched to help key players from the bio-food industry in Quebec when making informed decisions about packaging. Developed by Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ), the Institute of Packaging Technology and Food Engineering (ITEGA) and the Groupe AGÉCO, and with the support of the MAPAQ, these tools are now available on the ÉEQ portal.
Built on an ecodesign approach, these tools offer packaging recommendations for 8 food categories by taking into account environmental performance, product protection and shelf-life, and marketing. By focusing on the sector’s best practices, options for ecodesigned packaging are brought to the foreground.
