Flat fees
Regarding the flat fee rate, companies and organizations that generate less than 15 metric tonnes of containers, packaging and printed matter or, for schedules prior to 2024, companies with annual revenues between $1 and $2 million to pay can benefit from an easily applicable flat rate according to their annual income and their total volume of generated materials.
The company that is eligible to the flat fee but has available data to enter in the portal may choose to fill out the data tables. The low-volume producer will thus pay the contribution that corresponds to actual materials generated. Know, however, that there will be a cap at the amount of the flat fee contribution the company normally would have paid.
Targeted companies must report the weights of the containers, packaging and printed matter they put on the market in Québec each year and classify them according to 30 material classes.
