Glass recycling: More good news!
Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) welcomes the announcement of a new commercial agreement to recycle glass in Québec (press release available here, in French) and congratulates RV² Technologies, a subsidiary of SiliCycle, and Tricentris on their partnership to process the glass recovered by Quebecers to produce crude silica and high value-added chemical products.
“Innovation and market development are the way of the future in glass recycling, along with the modernization of our sorting centres. This exciting project is a step in the right direction. Congratulations to all!” stated Maryse Vermette, president and CEO, ÉEQ.
Note that ÉEQ recently released a report on the Innovative Glass Works plan, and, last week, the government of Québec revealed major budget measures to enhance Québec’s recovery system. Both announcements are key milestones in the effort to recycle 100% of the glass collected through curbside recycling.
