NEW MEASURE OF ÉEQ’S INNOVATIVE GLASS WORKS PLAN: $1.2 million to support the development of market outlets that give a 2nd life to glass collected via curbside recycling
On the occasion of the Salon des technologies environnementales held today and tomorrow in Québec City, Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) is pleased to announce the latest measure of the Innovative Glass Works plan consisting in financial assistance to encourage the development of new market outlets for recycled glass. The event also coincides with the launch of ÉEQ’s new ad campaign featuring spokesperson Éric Salvail.
Introduced last January, the Innovative Glass Works plan offers a concrete solution for 100% of glass collected via curbside recycling. In addition to the installation of innovative glass sorting equipment in sorting centres as part of demonstration projects, the financing program announced today is designed to support a whole range of existing and emerging applications for the quality glass thus sorted.
A second life for glass collected via curbside recycling
Thanks to the financial assistance program, companies and organizations wishing to produce new products that use recycled glass will be provided with the help they need to find concrete and value-added solutions in order to develop markets for recycled glass.
From the total $6.7 million envelope announced in January, $1.2 million will be allocated to support market development. Businesses with an establishment in Quebec can receive financial assistance as well as technical and commercial support to help them market products that include glass collected via curbside recycling.
Companies and organizations who wish to take advantage of the program to move their projects forward can submit their application starting on March 21, 2016, on ÉEQ’s website at: www.ecoentreprises.qc.ca/glass.
Today, we recycle everywhere!
Designed to highlight the importance of recycling everywhere we go, the latest edition of ÉEQ’s ad campaign shows Éric Salvail appearing to a couple throughout the day to remind them to continue the good habits they have at home – everywhere they go!
Premiered on the En mode Salvail show on March 14, 2016, the ad campaign will be launched on TV and the web through May. A social media dissemination strategy was also developed to support the message and redirect consumers towards ÉEQ’s website where a page with content for the general public was developed. They will have access to tips and advice on recycling better as well as get the results of a survey of Quebecers’ recycling habits when they are away from home.
