The 40
th edition of the Programme d’économie d’eau potable (PEEP) (water-saving program) and the 2
nd edition of Réseau Environnement’s public awareness campaign regarding residual materials management (Tri-logique) ended on August 5, 2016.
Six awareness agents participated in 233 activities and travelled to 14 regions in the province to reach out to 1.8 million people. Using such slogans as “Do you know what goes through your pipes?” and “1, 2, 3… sort your materials!,” they gave advice and tips on how to save drinking water and better sort residual materials. As the representative of the approximately 3,400 companies who compensate the costs of municipal curbside recycling services, ÉEQ provides support to the Tri-logique program in order to give a second life to containers, packaging and printed matter.
